Sport Overview

The Triathlon Program

Triathlon at Guildford Grammar School provides students with the opportunity to develop fitness, resilience, and confidence through the exciting combination of swimming, cycling, and running. Whether students are experienced triathletes or new to the sport, the program offers high-quality coaching in a supportive environment where athletes can progress at their own pace while building skills across all three disciplines.

For Senior School students in Years 7–12, the program offers both Development and Performance pathways, providing flexibility to suit different levels of commitment and experience. Students in both pathways train together for much of the season and benefit from the same coaching, instruction, and team environment, with training adapted where appropriate to meet individual goals. The Development Pathway is ideal for students who wish to enjoy the fitness and skill development that triathlon offers, while the Performance Pathway provides additional opportunities to race regularly and represent Guildford Grammar School at Triathlon WA events throughout the season.

Prep School students also have the opportunity to participate in the Triathlon Club, developing their skills across swimming, cycling, and running in a fun and supportive environment. Selected students may have the opportunity to represent Guildford Grammar School at JPSSA and SSWA Triathlon events.

Training takes place during Terms 1 and 4, utilising the School’s pool, campus facilities, and surrounding training routes. Students also have opportunities to compete in school and community triathlon events, including the SSWA Triathlon and the Guildford Grammar School In-House Triathlon. Whether participating for personal development, cross-training for other sports, or pursuing competitive triathlon, the program aims to develop confident, capable, and well-rounded athletes.
