Sport Overview
Sport at Guildford Grammar School
Sport at Guildford Grammar School is a compulsory part of every student’s journey and an integral part of life at our School. We believe sport is one of the most powerful ways to develop confident, resilient and compassionate young people, fostering character, teamwork, leadership and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.
Our vision is to provide every student with the opportunity to participate, compete and grow in an environment where they feel challenged, supported and inspired. While we celebrate success and achievement, we place equal importance on effort, sportsmanship and personal growth. Whether students are experiencing sport for the first time or pursuing representative honours, they are encouraged to strive for their personal best and represent Guildford Grammar School with pride.
Guildford Grammar School offers one of the most distinctive school sporting models in Western Australia. Our co-educational Prep and Junior School program provides opportunities for boys and girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 to learn, play and compete together. In the Senior School, boys compete in the PSA competition, while our girls proudly represent Guildford Grammar School in community competitions across a wide range of sports. Combined with our compulsory sport program, this ensures every student has meaningful opportunities to participate in quality coaching, regular competition and a strong sense of belonging.
Supported by passionate coaches, dedicated staff and outstanding facilities, our sporting program extends far beyond the playing field. It is a place where friendships are formed, resilience is developed and young people discover what they are capable of. Our aim is for every student to leave Guildford with a lifelong appreciation for sport, physical activity and the values that come from being part of a team.

Sport Overview
welcome from the director of sport
Welcome to Sport at Guildford Grammar School.
It is a privilege to lead a sporting program that plays such an important role in the life of our School. Every day I have the opportunity to work alongside outstanding students, coaches, staff and families who share a passion for helping young people grow through sport.
I believe school sport is about far more than results. It is about developing character, resilience, leadership and a genuine sense of belonging. It teaches young people how to work as part of a team, respond to setbacks, celebrate success with humility and continually strive to improve. These are qualities that extend well beyond the sporting field.
Guildford Grammar School provides a unique sporting environment. As a co-educational PK–12 school, we deliver a compulsory sport program for every student. Our Prep and Junior School students learn and compete together in a co-educational setting, while our Senior School boys compete in the PSA competition and our girls proudly represent Guildford Grammar School in community competitions. This distinctive model allows us to provide meaningful sporting opportunities for every student while continuing to strengthen pathways for participation, performance and lifelong involvement in sport.
My experience as an Olympian, international coach and high-performance leader has shaped the way I approach this role, but my greatest passion is creating an environment where every student can discover what they are capable of. Whether a student is taking their first steps in sport or striving for state, national or international representation, our commitment is to provide exceptional coaching, strong role models and an experience that inspires confidence, perseverance and pride.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our sporting program. Our Sports team looks forward to supporting students and families throughout their sporting journey at Guildford Grammar School.
