Guildford Grammar School sport is delivered across a beautiful and expansive campus network in Guildford, just 12 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The campus includes ovals, hockey turf, hard courts, aquatic facilities, indoor spaces, a dedicated fitness centre and a historic rowing shed with direct river access.

Getting Here
Guildford Grammar School is located at 11 Terrace Road, Guildford WA 6055 – approximately 12 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The campus is easily accessible by car, train and bus, and is well signposted from the Great Eastern Highway.
By Car
Driving & Parking
The main school entrance is accessed via Great Eastern Highway. Adequate parking is available at all sporting venues.
By Train
East Guildford Station
East Guildford train station is located directly opposite the GGS on Terrace Rd, making it the most convenient public transport option for the campus.
The station is served by the Midland Line. From Perth City (approximately 30 minutes) or Midland (approximately 10 minutes). Check the Transperth journey planner for current timetables.
Walk time from East Guildford station to the Sporting fields is approximately 5-10 minutes.
By Bus
Bus Access
Several Transperth bus routes service the Guildford area along the Great Eastern Highway corridor, with stops close to the school campus.

For visiting school buses: a designated bus drop-off area is available near the main entry.
Match Day
Match Day Visitor Information
- Arrive early on busy fixture days – PSA Saturdays can see multiple sports running simultaneously. Allow extra time for parking, particularly for rowing and cricket home fixtures.
- Main entry via Great Eastern Freeway – follow the Visitor Car Park signs from the main school gate.
- Change rooms and toilets are located near major playing fields and indoor facilities.
- Fixture venue changes and extreme weather decisions are communicated through Clipboard. Check Clipboard before travelling to any fixture.

Major Sport Facilities
Ovals & Open Fields
The GGS campus features multiple named ovals and open playing fields spread across the Senior and Preparatory School precincts. Pexton Oval, Collison Oval, Roberts Oval and Rugby Field serve as the primary senior match day venues for Cricket, Football, Soccer and Rugby.
The Flats, West Flats and Back Flats provide additional open-field space for all sports and recreational activities. The golf practice green and hole are also located on the Flats, used by the Golf program.

Cricket Grounds
The School’s cricket facilities reflect its long and proud history in the sport, with the PSA Darlot Cup competition stretching back to 1905. The campus features dedicated match and training infrastructure across the main playing fields.
- Match pitches: 4 pitches – 3 turf wickets + 1 synthetic wicket
- Training: 8 turf training wickets + 5 synthetic nets
- Standards: All equipment must comply with Australian standards
- Sports: Boys Cricket (PSA), JPSSA, IPSHA
The combination of turf and synthetic surfaces allows the cricket program to run training and match activity across multiple groups simultaneously during the summer season.
Hockey Turf
The Guildford Grammar Foundation Hockey Turf is the School’s dedicated synthetic hockey surface, providing consistent playing conditions for training and match fixtures throughout the winter season. The turf is complemented by a grass field for additional squad training and overflow use.

Courts Precinct
Tennis and Netball Centre is a focal point of the campus courts precinct. It provides a hub for both programs and is well situated on campus for spectator access and team gathering.
- Tennis: 12 hard courts + 6 grass courts (Gladstone, Terrace Road frontage)
- Basketball: Outdoor courts situated around the school
- Netball: 6 Hard courts adjacent to the Tennis and Netball Centre
- Beach volleyball: Dedicated beach volleyball courts
Aquatic Facilities
GGS operates two pools serving different parts of the school community. The Senior School Pool supports swimming squads, water polo, lap swimming, aquatic conditioning for the senior year groups. The Preparatory School Pool serves Prep students through learn-to-swim programs, squad swimming, aquatic carnivals and the broader junior aquatic program.

Indoor courts, Strength & Conditioning
Indoor sport at GGS is served by two dedicated spaces. Oliverson Gymnasium provides the primary indoor court for basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton training and matches. Priestley Hall provides additional indoor court capacity for competition, team training and wet weather alternatives across multiple sports.
The Barber Fitness Centre is the School’s dedicated strength, conditioning and rehabilitation facility. Sessions are available before and after school, Monday to Thursday during term. Supervised by qualified Strength and Conditioning staff, the centre supports athletes across all sports through appropriate loading, recovery and injury management programs.

H C Small Rowing Shed
The H C Small Rowing Shed is the home of GGS Rowing, providing equipment storage, boat rigging, team gathering and program administration for one of the School’s most celebrated sporting traditions. The shed has direct river access to the Swan River, with launching facilities for both senior and junior rowing programs.

Master Plan
Sports & Aquatic Centre
The Sports and Aquatic Centre is the first major project to move forward from Guildford Grammar School’s Master Plan. This development will provide state-of-the-art facilities for sport, fitness and wellbeing, and is envisioned as a community hub for students, staff, families and the wider Guildford Grammar School community.
As part of the early planning process, the School assessed current facilities and identified the need to replace the existing Senior School pool. The Centre is earmarked to be located to the left of the main school entrance.
The project is currently in early planning. Community consultation with students, parents, staff and alumni will directly inform the design and scope of the Centre. Construction timelines will be shared following the design and feasibility phase.
