Sport Overview

The Cricket Program

Cricket at Guildford Grammar School has a proud and longstanding tradition, fostering excellence, teamwork and a lifelong passion for the game. The program is available to students in Years 5 and 6 and boys in Years 7–12, providing a clear pathway for players of all abilities to develop their skills in a supportive, challenging and enjoyable environment.

The cricket season runs across Terms 1 and 4, with opportunities for every player to learn, grow and compete. Students in Years 5 and 6 focus on developing fundamental skills, building confidence and enjoying the game through modified matches and team-based learning. As players progress through the Middle School, training becomes more specialised, helping students refine their technical ability, tactical understanding and physical preparation. Senior students represent Guildford Grammar School in the highly regarded PSA competition, where they compete against some of Western Australia’s strongest school cricket programs.

Guildford Grammar School has a rich history of producing talented cricketers who have progressed to club, representative and professional cricket. While the program celebrates high performance, its primary focus is on developing well-rounded young people who demonstrate leadership, humility and respect both on and off the field. With outstanding facilities, experienced coaches and a strong sense of community, GGS Cricket provides an environment where every player can thrive, contribute to their team and create lasting memories.
