Sport Overview
The Badminton Program
The GGS Badminton program is designed for senior boys in Years 10-12 who want to develop a high level of technical skill within a competitive school sport environment. Badminton is a sport that tests a player’s agility, reflexes, strategic thinking and composure under pressure – qualities the program is specifically designed to cultivate through structured training, tactical development and PSA competition.
Training sessions focus on the core technical elements of the game: footwork patterns, drive and drop shot technique, net play, singles structure and doubles partnerships. The First Team benefits from additional early morning training sessions to sharpen match preparation ahead of PSA fixtures.
Students represent Guildford Grammar School in PSA Badminton competition on Saturdays throughout Terms 2 and 3. The program develops not only skilled badminton players, but students who bring discipline, strategic thinking and competitive composure to everything they do.
