Round 9 & 10 Wrap-Up: GGS Netball Builds Momentum Towards PNA Finals

Guildford Grit on display as GGS Netball heads towards finals!

The past fortnight has been another fantastic period for GGS Netball, with our teams continuing to demonstrate commitment, resilience and teamwork as the season progresses towards finals.

Across Rounds 9 and 10, the Guildford Grammar Netball Club recorded an impressive 15 wins across the two rounds, with teams across all divisions continuing to build momentum and showcase the growth they have achieved throughout the season.

Congratulations to GGS 1, GGS 2, GGS 3, GGS 4 and GGS 6, who all secured important victories across the senior divisions during these rounds. Our Year 7/8 teams also produced some excellent performances, with GGS 8, GGS 9, GGS 10, GGS 11 and GGS 12 all recording well-deserved wins following strong team efforts.

While not every result ended with a win, one of the standout performances of Round 9 undoubtedly came from GGS 12. Trailing by 13 goals heading into the final quarter, the team refused to give up and showed exactly what it means to display Guildford Grit. They dug deep, backed each other and lifted their intensity when it mattered most, producing an outstanding final term where they scored 11 goals while restricting their opponents to just one. Their determination and composure under pressure saw them close the margin to just three goals by the final whistle.

Round 10 also saw a standout performance from GGS 7. After a challenging season that has seen them face some tough results against strong opposition, the team has continued to show incredible commitment and a willingness to improve. Their dedication at training, focus on developing stronger connections on court and determination to keep learning has been evident throughout the season.

That hard work was rewarded with a fantastic performance, with the team competing strongly from start to finish and going down by just two goals in a highly competitive contest. It was fantastic to see the players’ persistence and improvement translate into such a close and determined performance. The confidence, teamwork and belief they showed throughout the game highlighted the progress they have made as a group. With the continued effort and commitment they have shown, their first win is certainly within reach. 

Congratulations to all of our players and coaches on two excellent rounds of GGS Netball. With finals approaching, it has been fantastic to see the continued development, determination and team spirit across the entire program. We look forward to seeing our teams finish the season strongly.
