Podium Finishes and Personal Bests at SSWA Triathlon Championships

Senior Girls Shine at SSWA Triathlon Championships

Fifteen Senior Girls travelled to Champion Lakes to compete in the SSWA Triathlon Championships, taking on the challenge of both the individual and team relay events in a fantastic day of racing.

Competitors were greeted with beautiful sunshine and warm conditions, making for a challenging day on the course. Despite the heat, our girls demonstrated plenty of Guildford grit, resilience and determination, competing strongly throughout the swim, cycle and run legs.

A highlight of the day was the number of athletes who improved on their previous performances, with many girls recording significant personal bests compared to last year’s SSWA Triathlon Championships. The continual improvement across the squad reflects the hard work, commitment and training efforts of the entire program.

There were several outstanding individual results across the day.

🥈 Emma (Year 8) delivered an exceptional performance to finish 2nd overall in the Year 8 Girls Division.

🥉 Georgia (Year 11) claimed 3rd overall in the Year 11 Girls Division in what was remarkably her first ever triathlon.

Congratulations to both girls on their podium finishes and outstanding efforts.

Special recognition also goes to:

• Summer, who finished 6th in the Year 7 Girls Division.
• Florence, who finished 9th-place finish in the Year 8 Girls Division.
• Ashley, who narrowly missed a Top 10 finish, placing 11th in the Year 8 Girls Division.

GGS also enjoyed success in the team competition, with two teams finishing inside the Top 10 in the Year 8 Girls Teams Division.

GGS Team 3 consisting of Summer, Emma and Ashley finished 6th overall.

GGS Team 4 consisting of Mikaylah, Florence and Amelia finished 9th overall.

These results were a fantastic reward for the girls’ efforts and contributed to an impressive overall performance by the Senior Girls Triathlon squad.

Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic day of racing and for representing Guildford Grammar School so well.
