Undefeated season ends in premiership glory for GGS Volleyball 

The winter volleyball season has been a tremendous success for Guildford Grammar School, with eight teams proudly representing the School across the Western Australian Volleyball Junior League (WAVJL) and competing against club, school, and community teams throughout the season. 

Leading the way was our GGS 1st Girls Volleyball Team, who achieved the remarkable feat of remaining undefeated for the entire season. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment culminated in a thrilling Grand Final victory on Friday night, securing the WAVJL championship in an exciting three-set encounter. 

Comprised of students from Years 10 to 12, the team displayed exceptional composure and maturity under pressure. GGS set the tone early by claiming the first set, before a determined Balcatta North side fought back to level the match in the second. 

With the premiership on the line, the GGS girls demonstrated outstanding resilience, courage, and teamwork. Maintaining their focus in a high-pressure decider, they produced some outstanding serving and controlled play to secure the third set 21-16, sealing a well-deserved championship victory. 

It was a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary season, reflecting the team’s unwavering determination and commitment to excellence. 

The journey is not over yet. As WAVJL Champions, the team now advances to the prestigious Champion of Champions round, where they will face the premier team from another competition hub.
