20 GOALS. 0 CONCEDED. 1 CHAMPIONSHIP.

On Tuesday 16 June, we took a team of 16 Senior Girls to the ACC Division 2 Hockey Challenge. The day consisted of four round-robin matches before progressing to the Grand Final.

The girls were outstanding from start to finish and should be extremely proud of their efforts. Under the leadership of Senior Girls’ Captain Lisa, the team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, showcasing exceptional teamwork, determination, and skill.

Tournament hockey is never easy, but the girls got off to a flying start. While the opening matches featured some unconventional hockey at times, they always found a way to get the job done. With each game, the team grew in confidence and cohesion, and by the end of the tournament they were operating like a well-oiled machine.

Their relentless pressure, work rate, and teamwork made them incredibly difficult to stop throughout the day. This was reflected in the Grand Final, where the girls produced a dominant display to defeat Sacred Heart College 7–0 and claim the Division 2 title.

This victory secures promotion back to Division 1 for the 2027 ACC Hockey Challenge.

While the squad was predominantly made up of our Year 10–12 Senior Hockey players, special recognition must go to Skye and Mikaylah (Year 8), who stepped up into the senior team and made an immediate impact. Both girls played with confidence and maturity beyond their years and were valuable contributors throughout the tournament.

A special mention also to player of the day to Mia (Year 11), whose calm and composed performances were a feature of the day. Her ability to consistently execute the basics and make smart decisions under pressure provided a strong foundation for the team’s success.

Congratulations to all players and staff involved on an outstanding achievement. To go through the tournament undefeated, concede no goals, score 20 goals across five matches, and earn promotion back to Division 1 is a testament to the commitment, teamwork, and character of our Senior Girls Hockey program.
